Goodwin bolsters venture capital funds in New York with partner Sara Werner | New

Global law firm Goodwin today announced that Sara Werner has joined the firm’s private equity practice as a partner, residing in the New York office.

Werner advises venture capital and other private equity funds, and the emerging and established companies in which they invest. She represents investment funds in their incorporation, operating and investment operations. She regularly advises fund managers on fund structures, market conditions and negotiations with limited partners. Werner also works with fund clients on their investments and disposals of portfolio company securities.

Goodwin’s private equity practice, which has approximately 200 lawyers, helps more than 500 investment managers raise capital to invest in the private equity, real estate, technology and science sectors of life. Over the past 18 months, the firm has closed more than 60 funds totaling more than $200 billion in capital raised. The firm was recently named Best Law Firm for Fund Creation by Law360, Legal 500 UK Awards, IJ Global and SuperReturn Awards.
