NEW YORK–(BUSINESS WIRE)–P.volve, the leader in evidence-based functional fitness for women, today announced that a father-daughter duo from Red Deer are the new owners of a studio franchise in Calgary, Alberta. The franchise team of Katie and Clint Oakley plans to open the studio in the summer of 2023, P.volve’s first in the Prairie Provinces.

P.volve’s Calgary studio is one of more than 100 studios P.volve plans to open in Canada. The company will open its first Canadian studio in Victoria, British Columbia next spring.

Calgary franchise winner Katie Oakley, 29, grew up competitive dancing, holds a third-degree black belt in taekwondo, managed a taekwondo studio, and is currently an administrator of a Yoga + Spin studio. She had been exploring the idea of ​​a franchise fitness studio and came across P.volve after working with a personal trainer who incorporated functional fitness into workouts. After a series of virtual workouts with P.volve, she became convinced of her potential and joined her father in pursuing a studio franchise.

Clint Oakley, a lifelong entrepreneur, said he shares many of the same goals in life as Katie. “Fitness is one of our common interests,” he said. “Katie and I earned our third degree black belts in Taekwondo together, study Muay Thai with the same trainer and play golf together. We were looking for a business venture together, and opening the first P.volve studio in the Prairie Provinces was a perfect fit. Katie’s professional fitness background is ideal for running the studio, and I will advise you on how to grow the studio based on my business background.

The company says Canadians contributed significantly to its record 145% year-over-year growth from July 2021 to June 2022.

Members of the new Calgary location will be able to take advantage of the benefits of in-studio and on-demand exercise. Currently, nine out of 10 members in cities with studios choose hybrid memberships that give them the option of attending in-studio or on-demand classes through P.volve’s digital platform.
