Reform EU tax laws, venture capitalists urge MEPs

By Alex Davidson (June 28, 2022, 12:58 BST) – Venture capitalists have urged a group of MPs to push the government to change European Union legislation that would deter retail investors from investing in high-risk businesses if it remained intact.

The House of Commons Treasury Committee was told on Monday that the Treasury was to remove a clause from the National Tax Act which, in April 2025, would result in the abolition of income tax relief for individual investors in venture capital trusts – which invest in growth industries.
