Here are twenty-eight new venture capital deals from August 2022.

Shorten

Pittsburgh-based Abridge, a healthcare-focused conversational AI company, raised a $12.5 Series A funding round. Wittington Ventures led the round, with backing from Pillar Venture Capital, UPMC Enterprises, Union Square Ventures, Bessemer Venture Partners, Whistler Capital and Yoshua Bengio.

Blend360

Blend360, which develops data, analytics and talent management solutions for large enterprises, secured $100 million in growth funding from Recognize. The company is based in Columbia, Maryland.

craniometer

New York-based Craniometrix, focused on Alzheimer’s care, has landed $6 million in seed funding. Quiet Capital was the lead investor, with backing from Cathexis Ventures, Rebel Fund, YC, defy.vc, J Ventures and Olive Tree Capital.

Cupixel

Boston-based Cupixel raised $5 million in seed funding. JOANN Fabric & Crafts led the round. Cupixel hopes to bring the joy of creating art to everyone.

Dropbase

Dropbase raised $1.75 million in new growth funding. The round was led by Gradient Ventures, with participation from Y Combinator, Bragiel Brothers, Unpopular Ventures, Liquid 2 Ventures and individual investors. The company is based in San Francisco, California, and offers a collaborative data import and management platform.

DuckPond Technologies

Private investors back $1.5 million seed funding round for DuckPond Technologies. The Baton Rouge-based company apparently develops both enterprise software and hip-hop-inspired sports game apps.

EtherMail

EtherMail, a Web3 messaging platform that supports anonymous and encrypted wallet-to-wallet communication, has won a $3 million seed round. Fabric Ventures and Greenfield One led the round, with backing from individual investor Rene Reinsberg, the founder of Celo. The company is based in Barcelona, ​​Spain.

Expedock

Expedock, which develops international freight software, closed a $13.5 million Series A funding round. Insight Partners led the investment, with participation from VMG Catalyst, Pear, Neo and individual investors. The company is based in San Francisco, California.

Further away

Farther, a New York-based wealth management startup, secured $15 million in Series A funding. Bessemer Venture Partners was the lead investor, with backing from Context Ventures, Cota Capital, Khosla Ventures, MassMutual Ventures and Moneta Ventures.

Finix Payments

Finix Payments, a payments technology startup serving software vendors, has raised $30 million in funding. Investors included aCrew Capital, American Express Ventures, Bain Capital Ventures, Cap Table Coalition, Franklin Templeton, Homebrew Ventures, Insight Venture Partners, Inspired Capital Fund LLC, Lightspeed Venture Partners, Precursor Ventures, PSP Growth, The General Partnership and VamosVentures. The company is based in San Francisco, California.

Travel forum

New York-based travel agency Fora Travel has secured $13.5 million in Series A funding. The investment was led by Heartcore Capital and Forerunner.

fundamental VR

Boston-based FundamentalVR, a virtual reality education platform focused on medicine, has secured $20 million in new funding. EQT Life Sciences was the lead investor. Downing Ventures also invested in the round.

Injective Protocol

New York-based blockchain startup Injective has closed a $40 million capital investment. Jump Crypto led the funding round, with support from BH Digital.

InSilico Medicine

Prosperity7 Ventures led a $35 million Series D investment in Insilico Medicine. The company, which focuses on clinical-stage drug discovery, is based in Hong Kong and New York. Other investors in the round included B Capital Group, BHR Partners, Bold Capital Partners, Deerfield Management Company, Pavilion Capital Partners, Qiming Ventures, Warburg Pincus, WS Investment and individual investor Alex Zhavoronkov.

InteraXon

Toronto-based Interaxon, a consumer neurotech company, raised $9.5 million in Series C funding led by Alabaster, BDC Capital and Export Development Canada. Other investors in the round included Iter Investments, Intretech, Clavis Foundation and Phyto Partners.

Animation studio Invisible Universe has raised a $12 million Series A funding round. The round was led by Seven Seven Six, with participation from Initialized Capital, Gaingels, 75 & Sunny, Wheelhouse Ventures, Cosmic Venture Partners, Dapper Labs, TCG, Franklin Templeton, Cassius, Schusterman Family Investments, Dreamers VC and several angel investors Individuals of note, including Serena Williams and Jennifer Aniston. The company is based in Los Angeles.

Clavi

Fintech solutions company Klavi has landed a $15 million Series A funding round. GSR Ventures, CIP SA, Iporanga Ventures, Parallax Ventures and Vivo Capital have all invested. The company is based in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

Komplid

Komplyd, a compliance platform for cannabis companies, has raised seed funding from Achari Ventures and Poseidon. The amount of the investment was not disclosed. The company is based in San Jose, California.

Levita Magnetics

Levita Magnetics, a surgical-focused healthcare services company, raised $26 million in a Series C funding round. Other investors included MedTex Ventures, Invermaster and Carao Ventures investing in the round . The company is based in Menlo Park, California.

Mesh Security

Cybersecurity startup Mesh Security has raised $4.5 million in seed funding. Booster Ventures led the round. The company is based in Tel Aviv, Israel.

Nightfall AI

Nightfall AI scored $40 million in its Series B funding round. WestBridge Capital led the round, with participation from Pear VC, Venrock, Next Play Capital, Bain Capital Ventures and individual investors Paul Rudd, Drew Brees and Josh Childress. Based in San Francisco, Calif., the company helps customers prevent data loss in the cloud.

Health Patchwork

London-based Patchwork Health landed a $20.6m Series B funding round led by Perwyn. Other investors included KHP Ventures, Praetura Ventures and a few individual investors.

Properly

Toronto-based Properly has raised $28.2 million in growth funds. AlleyCorp, Bain Capital Ventures, FJ Labs, Golden Ventures, Industry Ventures, Intact Ventures, Interplay Ventures, Max Ventures, Parker89 and Prudence Holdings have invested in the round. Properly is a real estate company.

QventusComment

Qventus, an AI startup, secured $3 million in funding, extending an earlier investment round from last February. ThedaCare completed the new investment, bringing the total funding amount to $53 million. The company is based in Mountain View, California.

Reusables.com

Vancouver-based Reusables.com raised $100,000 in seed funding. Sustainable Development Technology Canada (SDTC) has invested, supporting the company’s efforts to build a zero-waste packaging platform.

Satellite Instant Messaging

Boston-based Satellite IM raised $10.5 million in seed funding. Framework Ventures and Multicoin Venture Fund were lead investors, with participation from IDEO CoLab, Solana Ventures, Hashed Venture Fund and Pioneer Square Ventures Fund. The company develops and brings to market a new peer-to-peer communication platform.

Superblocks

New York-based Superblocks has raised $37 million in funding for its rapidly developing programmable platform for software engineers. Greenoaks, Spark Capital, Meritech and Kleiner Perkins led the funding round. A long list of high profile individual investors also invested in the cycle.

wavenet

Taipei-based martech firm Wavenet has closed a Series B funding of approximately $3 million. Cornerstone Asset Holdings led the round.
