Waterfront Framing expands into new venture at former Sherwin Williams space

Exciting things are happening for Waterfront Framing and Design and their sister store b. grace shop. The two companies, which shared adjacent space at 606 Ship Street in downtown St. Joe, will move into the former Sherwin Williams store at 209 State Street as the Waterfront House of Framing & Fashion.

Valerie Byrnes, who bought Waterfront Framing in 2019, and b. Grace Boutique owner Emily Byrnes is a mother-daughter team who sees the blending of their two businesses as an opportunity to increase visibility and create a unique gallery experience in downtown retail stores in St. Joe.

“The carpentry side of the house will remain the strength of the trade. It’s what we love, it’s why we’re here and it’s the core of our business. Everything we added around it is linked to elegance and design,” explains Valérie. “We’ll have premium, eclectic and artistic apparel choices that are both beautiful and fun, and we’ll be adding over 10 new frame lines for a wider range of options.”

b. grace boutique opened in 2021 based on a concept Emily piloted in Battle Creek when the city launched a seasonal shipping container shopping experience. When the opportunity arose to take over the space next to Waterfront Framing, she opened b. Grace boutique with a focus on unique clothing choices. Sharing a space gave the couple exposure to their established clientele.

“We work well together; Emily’s youthful eye brings a new dimension and adds value to the design and both spaces. The new space will be a one-of-a-kind shopping experience with artfully rotating exhibits and showcases,” says Valérie.

“When our customers come to shop, the experience will begin before they even walk through the door and become an exploration of art, design, clothing and framing,” added Emily.

Framing and design of the waterfront and b.grace shop will close its space on Ship Street in September to move into the new space and prepare for its grand opening events. Follow the Waterfront Framing and Design Facebook Page to view these events which will include a fashion show, artistic opening and events for the local community and existing customers of both companies. Launch and opening dates for the new website will be announced shortly. To be on the event mailing list, complete the contact form at https://www.waterfrontframing.com/contact-us.
